Recently: CITYPEEK Patti ate a new pizza choice @ IGGIE's in Mt Vernon, just down the street from THE PRIME RIB-- Blue cheese and pear topping with balsamic drizzle-yummy! You go LISA HECKMAN! Iggie's pizza of the month is: Pizza alla Diavola - Spicy Italian sausage in tomato sauce with Mozz, asiago and parm topped with black olives and peppers. And the Charity this month is Baltimore Zoo, so in lieu of tips all proceeds go to the Baltimore Zoo. CITYPEEK Patti sampled a wedge @ RUB and added sliced smoked "bird" as they call it. Met the Jim Beam Brand Territory manager, Rick Henry, who was happy I ordered a knob creek cocktail. Owner Michael Marx is still planning to open a new restaurant concept in the nearby SILO Point Condominiums in South Baltimore's Locust Point by TURNER DEVELOPMENT in late Summer.

CITYPEEK Patti visited Bob Ramin and Celia Lourens @ National Aquarium, Washington DC-newly refurbished sister venue of the National Aquarium, Baltimore, this niche aquarium celebrates AMERICAN fish and all that surrounds it. It is smaller, more intimate and a wonderful 45 minute trip to fit into a Washington DC visit--Find the National Aquarium, Washington DC just across from the National Mall and the Smithsonian Museum of American Art.
We just sampled a fun, educational sustainable fish (this time it was Marvesta shrimp) dinner @ the Baltimore National Aquarium and look forward to the next one. I enjoyed my intimate table including, Marvesta Shrimper, Scott F, Executive Dir David Pittinger, a new friend from Metromix and Denise Aranoff-Brown Marketing wiz from the Aquarium. The shrimp were packaged fresh just 15 hours from farm to table. That is neat. The Classic Catering People cooked up our feast and Eddie Dopkin oversaw the special event.

FIND: Definitely a small nook found in Locust Point/Federal Hill is Luca's-found vodka infused cocktails from pineapple to strawberry to blueberry and pear. Food is delicious. It is just past the reliably excellent WINE MARKET on Fort Avenue on the left. Nicole at Luca's makes a mean Orange Crush "Tell them Patti said to try it with a GM floater".
Also of note are the Orange Crush's at Mama's on the Half Shell--a Scunny favorite and at Ryleigh's Oyster in Federal Hill.
We also love the pita and chips and wings and view at Tabrizi's at the Harborview Marina. Happy Hour Mon-Friday 4-7. Mention CITYPEEK and get FREE pita and hummus plate. Cheers!
