BALTIMORE famous bar for happy hour--the hopping Wine Market WINE BAR RESTAURANT (with parking!)--THE WINE MARKET was the venue for a very special ARTESA wine luncheon. Aficionado, Al Spoler of WYPR's Cellar notes, Lee Murray of MD/DC Beverage Journal were special table guests of famed & most-attractive, NAPA VALLEY, CA Mark Beringer, WINEMAKER and Tim Shippey-Brand Director- of ARTESA VINEYARDS & WINERY. What a treat! We tasted 2 chardonnays-found the 2007 Carneros refreshing and approachable-paired with a chilled asparagus and smoked chanterelle mushroom soup. 2 pinot noirs-served with sock-eyed salmon and orzo salad-yum! We adored the Pinot reserve 2006-around $39/bottle with the chicken dish and cheese plate after.  2 merlot blends topped us off and 2 special 'only available in California' treats. Notables are the ARTESA RED blend-ELEMENTS and a 2005 "only available in CA" treat. Did you know that Pinot Noir began in 1970's in California and is best grown in Carneros. What a thrill and a pleasure to be there.

(The night prior, foodie pal, LARS RUSINS organized a highly successful BALTIMORE FOODIES Artesa wine dinner--so successful, a tent was used for outside overflow.) Kudos all around for The WINE MARKET owner, Chris Spann and managers,  Ryan and Kelly.

Also had a VIP TASTING at ROY's HAWAIIN in HARBOR EAST (please note, it wasn't the same day as ARTESA lunch! wink wink). ROY's Baltimore RESTAURANT in BALTIMORE is one of just 5 ROY's around the country that is now opened for lunch. Seen in the crowd were my gracious hosts--ROY's Outback Steakhouse executive Anne Marie, Bryson Keens, Christine Graczyk, Tyese Thornton. Guests included:  Pat Roselle, exquisite tastes, HARBOR COURT CLE D'OR CONCIERGE, Preston Rooks, Sheraton Inner Harbor Baltimore Concierge, Ms. Rena, Marriott Waterfront Concierge, Dee O'Horan, Realtor Tammy Wase,  CAKELOVE, Warren Brown and cake chef, Mary. I kept the intake light on the sunny summer day,  sampled 2 light refreshing dishes: the shrimp ceviche, served whole with lime juice and placed on a bed of thinly sliced avocado and then enjoyed a house salad with grilled shrimp. I kept it light and added a crisp Sauvignon Blanc to top off the taste sensations! Add a comment to your visit to ROYS' @ http://www.citypeek.com/baltimore/restaurant/baltimore-roy%E2%80%99s-res...

Congratulations to my friend, TAPAS BAR RESTAURANT in Little Italy, Irene Carolina, Baltimore Hispanic Business of the Week: TapaBar Restaurant by Baltimore Hispanic Business Examiner, Source: www.examiner.com. Being a woman is hard. Being a businesswoman is even harder. Becoming the Latina owner of a Spanish Tapas restaurant in the heart of Little Italy –at the onset of the worst recession in recent history— is not only harder, it could probably be categorized as downright insanity. http://www.citypeek.com/baltimore/restaurant/tapabar-restaurant-baltimore

With help c/o BBJ source-What happened to ROBERT OLIVER SEAFOOD? The owner of a building — home to a Mount Vernon restaurant — has filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy, stalling a pending foreclosure on the property.Gjerde Family Investments LLC, which does not have any connection to Woodberry Kitchen Owner Spike Gjerde, listed $2 million in assets and $1.2 million in liabilities in the bankruptcy filed in federal bankruptcy court May 26. The property’s address is 1225 Monument St., where Robert Oliver Seafood operates.

Look for a wonderful new boutique hotel in the heart of Mt Vernon coming soon by Mr. Richard Naing, who also owns the Inn at the Colonnade amongst other properties.
