CITYPEEK Patti visited Bob Ramin and Celia Lourens @ National Aquarium, Washington DC-newly refurbished sister venue of the National Aquarium, Baltimore, this niche aquarium celebrates AMERICAN fish and all that surrounds it. It is smaller, more intimate and a wonderful 45 minute trip to fit into a Washington DC visit--Find the National Aquarium, Washington DC just across from the National Mall and the Smithsonian Museum of American Art.
We just sampled a fun, educational sustainable fish (this time it was Marvesta shrimp) dinner @ the Baltimore National Aquarium and look forward to the next one. I enjoyed my intimate table including, Marvesta Shrimper, Scott F, Executive Dir David Pittinger, a new friend from Metromix and Denise Aranoff-Brown Marketing wiz from the Aquarium. The shrimp were packaged fresh just 15 hours from farm to table. That is neat. The Classic Catering People cooked up our feast and Eddie Dopkin oversaw the special event Next Sustainable Fish Wine Dinner is June 23rd.

TAVERNA CORVINO hots special CHEF's Table dinners--A new find in Federal Hill--where old Vespa was, formally (albeit briefly) Junior's. Chef Christopher Paternotte has been thrilling the neighborhood with his authentic Italian small plates. His love for good food and good wine is contagious. Experience this passion for yourself by reserving a seat at Chef's Banco. In the rear of the restaurant, Chef's Banco (literally Chef's Bar) takes up residence along the private back bar, and at 7pm (if he's not in the kitchen!) this is where you will be sure to find him- guiding, explaining, and enthralling each guest sitting at one of only 4 available seats. For each of the Banco's twice-nightly seatings Chef Paternotte hand-crafts a unique tasting-menu specifically designed for the guests at his bar. Specific Menus change frequently including anywhere from 5-9 small-plate courses- each expertly matched with interesting and exciting wines- each tasting menu is offered at a prix-fixe (tax and tip included).
