Today is special in its own way, but even more so, as it is National Happy Hour Day. It a reason to drink, sip, savor your favorite cocktail. But, almost every day, between the hours of 4-7 PM, you can get an adult beverage at a reduced rate at spots around the world. Note, be sure to check rules and regulations of your state to comply to laws.
Happy Hour offerings should showcase your restaurant's vision and concept. Lure your guests in with specials. Make a one-time guest a regular patron. According to the Restaurant.org website: " Food and beverage offerings at happy hour should support the restaurant’s concept and culinary position."
At SHERATON hotel properties, they host Wine Social Hour. The program features an upgraded premium wine menu comprised of a rotation of eight or more wines by the glass, all rated by Wine Spectator. Last night, I enjoyed a special tequila cocktail at Mexicali Blues in Roslyn, VA. I am giving a special shout out to owner, Karen for her housemade-to-order guacamole which complimented our food and great service and drinks by vetran bartender, Tae. I thought I would just be going for a quick drink (at 6 pm) and some guac, but stayed for dinner and will go back again when in the area. They have daily specials from 4-7pm with deals on drafts, bottled beer, margaritas and 1/2 price appetizers on the menu.
Many spots offer $5 glasses of wine and discounted drafts and martinis. Go out and see the deals in your neighborhood or travels. Isn't is always HAPPY HOUR DAY? You may be pleasantly surprised and your wallet will thank you.
